About Leysa

Leysa is the engineering practice of Dawid Huczyński from Wrocław, Poland: an architect with an unrestricted design licence and a software developer. Dawid has spent well over a decade working where design, data and software meet. With Leysa you talk directly to the person who analyses the process, writes the code and is responsible for the rollout.

The name

ley·sa [ˈleiːsa] v. leysi · leysti · leyst

1. to solve (a problem, a task): leysa vandamál. 2. to loosen, untie (a knot): leysa hnút. 3. to release, free (from something, e.g. a duty).

Etym. Icelandic, from Old Norse leysa ← Proto-Germanic *lausijaną ‘to loosen, release’, from *lausaz ‘loose, free’. Cf. German lösen, Swedish lösa, English loose.

Experience

  • 2011–2019: architect at offices in Wrocław and Reykjavík. Projects in Norway: schools, public offices, housing, retail and industrial buildings.
  • 2020–2024: BIM coordinator and process automation at a large architecture office, introducing CI/CD to design.
  • Since 2022: energy. PV farm control system, production plans, price forecasts.
  • Since 2023: spatial analysis for renewables: PV, wind, linear infrastructure.
  • Since 2024: data and technology specialist, BIM expert and R&D at a steel-structure general contractor. Company-wide process automation.

Management skills: requirements gathering, scheduling, working with stakeholders and teams, product life-cycle design.

Education and certificates

  • Wrocław University of Science and Technology, one year at TU Dresden.
  • Unrestricted architectural design licence (Poland, 2015).
  • PRINCE2 Foundation, MITx 6.00x (Python).
  • Languages: Polish, English (fluent), German (conversational), Icelandic (basic). Projects can be run in English.
